E is for ....

Embroidery. Before knitting and spinning took this hold on me I used to design and stitch needlepoint, these are all worked on 18 holes per inch canvas. I have got a couple of recent works, which haven't been stretched and mounted yet, and when I look at these I do miss it but there are only so many hours in the day!

Those are fantastic. I used to do that, once upon a time. Never anything so involved. I was always meant to be a knitter!

Now you've done it! Your fabulous works make me what to take up needlepoint again. Embroidery was the first handwork I learned around 6 then sewing at 8 but it wasn't until an elderly friend put a small needlepoint kit in my hands at age 11 that I fell in love with fibery stuff.

Especially love the top design! What are the dimensions?

I love these - they are so different from your hanks of dyed wool yet... yet I can see something similar in there too!

I love embroidery. I don't do as much embroidery these days as I knit so much more. I love surface work---anything with texture. I did some needlepoint. Over here in the US, there are quite a few needlepointers who do surface work on the needlepoint canvas. Great designs!
